Just let all the nay sayers know, I researched and found out that Jennifer Hudson beat Fantasia for the part of Effie White. She won a grammy and an oscar for her performance. In the movie and on stage singing the songs from the movie she hit higher notes with ease than any of the notes in this song. She is a real beast. Its not about competing with Fantasia. She did that and won.she just wanted to sing a well known song in honor of Opera

Jennifer Hudson is hands down.. a far superior Actress and Singer than Fantasia.. Since her Families Death's, This song is 100% more poignant under the helms of Jennifer Hudson.. Sadly, I would hate to think that Jennifer Hudson would be known for being the artist that lost 1/2 of her family in the prime of her career...
