I feel like I have been living in the dark, and have just been enlightened. I was always thoughts the somosa case was made from filo pasty – which is very difficult to handle and tedious cutting it to the appropriate size.
I never also quite knew how you go about making the perfect equilateral triangle as mine always appeared more of an isosceles triangle shape.
Well hopefully when I endeavour to make somosa’s again this clip will help me achieve that perfect look!

Hi I was just asking my friend earlier if the dough was the same as spring rolls'. Now that you said it is .... can I then just use spring roll pastry?
sunn233 1 year ago
@sunn233 Hi, yes you can, you just need to cut the pastry into long length strips approx 5cm wide by 20cm long. If your pastry is already longer then you'll just need to roll it up a few more times. Good luck.

The dough is available made from most stores. It is the equivelent of spring roll pastry, so check in your local Chinese store or China Town. The recipe can be found on the web, its called 'Samosa Pur'.
