We made some of this in our engineering chem lab today. Ours was a little thick, though, so it didn't react as well. :(

No, ferro fluid will not kill you if it touches your skin. No mercury is involved. Made of magnetite, and an oil solvent. Harmless, unless you ingest it.

you'll likely suffer some metal poisoning, iron? idk whatever the ferrofluid is made out of. Think like mercury.
