  • No, ferro fluid will not kill you if it touches your skin. No mercury is involved. Made of magnetite, and an oil solvent. Harmless, unless you ingest it.

  • Quick question: What liquid/oil did you use with the ferrofluid inside the tube? I tried water but the sides get coated in the fluid and you can't see anything. I want to put my ferrofluid in a test tube down the center of a toroidal coil and send AC signals to it through the coil and see what happens at different Frequencies

  • Loving the background argume

  • Can you re-use ferrofluid?

  • @ratulloch1 You can use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, Windex, or distilled water. Tap water tends to mix with the ferrofluid's oil.

  • T-9000 :D

  • Looking at that stuff grosses me out! Sometimes, I actually have to squint my eyes to look at it. Thumbs up if this applies to you.

  • World of Goo. I finally solved it.

  • @TheQueenofdasouth no it is not mercury, it will nor expand, orcontract in heat, it is just extremely fine magnetic dust in a liquid that holds it,

  • when we said ferrofluid we mean black mercury ???
