Trash Can on Fire at Hamilton Station

Flames & dark black smoke engulf a trash can on the northbound platform at Hamilton Station at 5:26 p.m. on a clear day as NJT Train #3959 with Comet V Cab Car #6067 leading & ALP44 #4420 pushing on the rear departs on the express track heading to Trenton & Morrisville Yard. Mercerville Engine 12 was sent to the station but the fire was put out by a man working a snack stand at the station before it arrived. An NJ Transit Police Officer was also dispatched. The fire was started by a cigarette that was tossed into the can by a careless & stupid person!! I hope whoever did it got arrested since that's arson!!

There was a man who was emptying trash cans at Hamilton Station but the only thing he did was tell someone to call for help. It wasn't no terror attack. It was just a carless idiot person tossing a burning cigarette into a trash can & letting it ignite. The fire was put out by a man working a snack stand at the station with a fire extinguisher.
