Exactly! In fact I like to listen to it when I experience those moments, :D It makes me think about time, life, I don't know. It's kind of a mantra to me. It's peace.

Depression is kind of a bad thing. I can't think about anything bad when I listen to this, it's beautiful

When listening to this, I imagine someone walking away from something, while rain is pouring down on his head. He at first is angry with a hint of sadness in his face, then slowly, he starts to cry and his anger is infused with sadness, tears dripping down his face just as fast as the rain is. During all this, he is still storming off.

countless artists and musical talents have lived with melancholia or depression. a great amount of the most poignant music has come out of dark places from great people. if you feel depressed or down while listening to this, good for you and long life to you. things don't just have to be exclusively beautiful or exclusively depressive. there is a line blurred here and, for me, this song fits right in between- sad but also a lovely soft melody.. shits been around forever

The thing is when you actually listen to this song all by yourself, it makes you think. It's up to the individual itself, whether it is depressional thoughts or happy thoughts, but the song just makes you think about them.

I wouldn't say I'm mishearing it, just interpreting it differently. That's what's so great about this track, that it evokes so many different emotions from people

No no no! It's precisely the combination of that industrial background sound - beautiful in its own ways - and the delicate piano notes what makes it sound so brilliant. Try again, you're mishearing it!

I agree with you. There were other amazing scores that should have gotten an oscar that year instead, such as Inception or How to Train Your Dragon. Even though this might not have been the most brilliant, it was different. It was an innovative, stressed, sound that approached scoring films in a new light.

When I listen to this I imagine a gray-haired guy around 30 years old, alone in a city apartment, writing diligently as time around him slows down.
