Don't make fun of the cats haircut! Some owners do it to long hair cats so there is less shedding and it's fur doesn't get matted or, so they don't have to brush their cat every day!Duh!

I had to get my cat shaved too around the neck couldn't do a lion cut because all her matting so everyone calls her skinny neck :,C but she is still adorable to me and the matts were horrible made a scar :c rather her look a bit funny then be all in pain.

It's very cute! And you can tell very much that the poor kitty has fur that matts easily! Matting hurts the cat, that is why people shave them. My cat absolutley will not let me brush him so he matts easily. I wish it was different for him, but its not! So, I choose to have him groomed so that he doesn't have to suffer!

@penelopepurr Its not always a case of can't keep up with the grooming, some cats (such as mine)will not allow grooming so need to be taken to the vets and shaved to get rid of the matting. I don't consider paying out £200 to have my cat shaved as abuse, neglect or not caring.

Beautiful cat! Mine is Main Coon and he also doesn't like to be groomed. In winter he likes to play out and hunt and becomes very matted, so every year I resort to having him shaved. Its quite funny as he is left only with his main, chest and boots but as he can't see himself I don't think he realises he's bald everwhere else and looks funny strutting his stuff in the street!

We own a main coon mixed with persian, so he is very hairy cat. He hates grooming, when it is really hot outside he sheds a lot and we dont want him to suffer, so we get him haircuts at summer time too.

This haircut is really nice!

A cat is a noble creature. Persians are especially beautiful. You should be ashamed to shave this poor friend! If you can't keep up with the grooming, give him or her up to someone who can!!!
