*UPDATE*

Hello people! Someone has informed me that this man's name is Claude Paillard. They also told me that he is a French amateur radio operator and he has a website! The address to his website is:

http://paillard.claude.free.fr/

I hope this answers many of your questions! I am so glad to know this information myself!

*UPDATE*

Original Description follows:

Part 2 of making tubes

Hey guys I found this video and I thought it would be nice to have it on youtube because I can't seem to find it here. I'm not trying to make anyone angry so if you are the owner and want it down I will willfully comply.

This guy makes tubes by hand! Triodes to be exact. Awesome video. Tube amplifier fans will enjoy it.

Original video was called "Fabrication d'une lampe triode" and was found on Daily Motion.

Update November 23, 2008: We have discovered the title of the song featured in this video, it is called "The Man I Love" and was created by the Gershwin Brothers (Written for a female singer). Enjoy

  • @beeroosterm Why would there be no electrons??? You'll find that free electrons are contained in a piece of copper (or any other conductor, for that matter). Obviously you've no understanding of elementary electronics or have the slightest understanding of particle physics. If you'd graduated high school, you might not have made such a ridiculous comment... If you fail to see why understanding every step in this process and why it works is important, you're a moron.

  • i would like to build a vttc with these tubes

  • @weskoki it was electromagnetic attraction between the parts. All conductors including straight wires are inductors. The mechanical vibrations would then travel down to the foot and up through the glass envelope making it resonate.

  • Only whites and asians are able to do anything this complicated.

  • Amazing. Very Respectful.

  • @mikeymike4g63 I have connected cd player to my old guitar amp with El34 tubes.

Speaker was disconnected.I know it's crazy but i could hear the music playing thru the tube.Very faint and only high frequences.

  • @weskoki i totally have no idea! thats crazy though

  • @mikeymike4g63 I could swear i could hear music playing if i place my ear close to the El34 tube.No speakers. Can you explain?

  • Once in a while it is refreshing to take the time to watch this so as to be reminded of technical excellence and quality on a more fundamental level.

Once he installs the Tube in the radio 04:18 (I think it's a Regenerative Receiver) and it worked that would have been good enough for me, but the mad scientist continues (as does that melodiously repetitious music)

Skilled individual no doubt; however, matters of the spirit and culture are important to me and perhaps neglected in this day and age

  • Brilliant. This master craftsman is astonishing. BRAVO SIR!

  • @chridmeister Thank you sir for that information :)

  • @mikeymike4g63 it's an analogue plotter, taking the output from the bench supply on one axis, and the output from the triode on the other. No computers involved.
