He was not accepted by the majority of the priesthood because He claimed to be equal to the Father by saying, "I and the Father are one", and, "before Abraham was, I AM." these were both statements made by the messiah in which he claimed to be equal to the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel. @HeavenlyJustice4All when i say not many if any prophets were sent TO israel, i mean from other nations. but the hebrew prophets were sent "to israel", yes.. so im sorry about that misunderstanding. but for a PROPHET to be a PROPHET, they have to make PROPHECIES. and PROPHECIES are when God tells a person what is going to happen in the future, and the person then tells everyone else, and then it comes to pass.

@HeavenlyJustice4All not very many prophets were sent TO israel, because most if not all of the prophets were hebrew. when muhammed says there are 142,000 prophets, that is a number he got by subtracting 2,000 from the 144,000 perfect children of israel in the book of revelation. the book of revelation is VERY specific about the 144,000; there are 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of israel. the 144,000 are all virgins, and have never spoken lies. they are the exact opposite of muhammed.
