Power Shift Sydney Flash Mob Dance

UWS Comm Arts Students and A-Live Entertainment Present - Flash-Dance for Climate Change!

Hundreds of young people take part in a 'flash mob' on the steps of the Sydney Opera House, dancing as a creative protest at the Power Shift 2009 youth climate summit. Three demands: Green Jobs for our generation, a Power Shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and 50% by 2020 carbon pollution reduction targets for Australia.

The dance was the culmination of a 3 day conference in Sydney with more than 1400 youth from across the country with speakers including the head of the IPCC, key Australian politicians, and more than 50 workshops. The next step is a major youth referendum planned for September. (Search for Power Shift Australia, and YouthDecide).

@broosycruise Cold Winters and Summers are part of the natural trend. On average, the global temperatures are increasing. Never measure global figures just from local records! Ice bergs are getting bigger because more ice is breaking of the ice shelves. Ice berg sizes show that there is more warming, not more ice. Your lack of scientific knowledge amazes me. Climate change is not a lie, but a scientific fact with scientific evidence. Your ignorance is starting to annoy the shits out of me.

@broosycruise Yes, and the government will compensate most of those costs. Your ignorance really does annoy me. Sure, media is biased, but bills passed by the government must be followed. They government knows that without doing so, their mandate will br quite effectively be taken away, Those who support the tax are those who have brains to understand the scientific evidence-and also had the brains go to uni, if you want to make uni students look bad. Climate change will have rapid effects.

@broosycruise Climate gate scandal was years ago. They've done new research that has no affiliation with Climate Gate. Result? It still supports it. I'm not promoting we change our lifestyle, I want what powers our lifestyle to change. I also think world hunger is a serious problem, but that problem will get worse if we leave global warming as it is. plus, with all the money we will be saving from a renewable powered australia, we can spend more money towards other causes! we can all win sir.
