Hitler and Stalin were not good commanders. The war was being lost when Stalin was in command but when he let his generals take over they pushed the Germans back. Victory was almost a sure thing for Hitler until he took direct command from his generals resulting in one of the greatest defeats of all time.

And if it is military leaders, how do Caesar and Alexander not get top billing? How is Cleopatra (who never won a single battle) even on the list?

Sorry, this is either misnamed or just plain wrong.

(p.s. Hitler was an AWFUL military leader who managed to loose WWII almost all by himself.)

STALIN? Stalin was not a good leader. He killed his own people, about as much as Hitler did. He rushed all his men and lost more than killed. AND HITLER? He didn't really do any strategic planning. It was mostly his generals.

Where is the greatest general from WWI? Sir General John Monash, Feared and respected by his enemies, First man knighted by the King of Britain on the battlefield in over 200 years at the time. He showed how modern war's should be fought, Hell after the war he set up training programs and support program's so his men would be good for when they got home to get work. He was a true Military Genius.
