I don't think its the drumming that's the problem on the last Cure album its the awful production. Its sounds so muffled and over compressed even on a decent hi fi system. Its a shame because they had ages to get it right, even cancelled part of their tour at the time to work on the album.

Everyone knocking the drummer remember. Back before the album 'The Cure' Robert said they probably could of got a better drummer,... but this guy just 'fits'. Sometimes its more about getting along.
