  • Does this vacuum have decent suction with tools? I heard they dont have the greatest, but ive been really wanting to try out the tools on my model 28.

  • @b799 Hi there, the tool suction is acceptable for a cleaner of that time, but it doesn't compare to the power of today's vacs.

  • This is a 1939 Hoover and NOT and 1946 model.

  • The 262 was introduced in the UK in 1939, replacing Model 875. Production was halted later that same year due to WW2.

RARE 1939 examples are identified by a full wrap-around motor-band, which as you can see, mine does not have.

Post-war production resumed in '46, and ended in '49.

The 262 in the video actually dates by serial number to 1947, but for the sake of people searching for specific machines, its tagged in the video as '1946', ie, from post-war run.

    That ok with you?!

  • lucky!

  • Another great machine. I have this with the "Moth-a-rizer" where you removerd the rear dust bag and attched a a cup-like device to hold moth balls and fumigate closets, et al. The cleaner itself weighs as much as a new Buick and probably has more metal in it, too! I love the growl!

  • your videos are awesome. I love those old hoovers and the way the bags fill with air when turned on. Unlike the hoovers from earlier times the later convertible models did not prove to have much suction power when using the attachments. Although in my opinion they still rank #1 in carpet cleaning.. Thanks and keep the videos coming!

  • i realy like this vid! like i said i like to see how they can be adapted to forfil difernt cleaning tasks!

  • i ike the vibra groomer brushroll when it hits the carpet.

  • oh thats cool
