Oh my... scotland is really beautiful... almost as beautiful as my own homeland...
This song reminds me of a man... long time ago he wents to scotland and took his bike with him... he went across scotland on that bike (for bed and breakfast) when he came back, he was totally captivated... and he said to me that this was the best trip of his life...
then he died... although he knew that he was ill (cancer) and that he was goin to die... he wouldnt drawback...

There may very well be an Irish version, as the tune is older than the words; however in this case it is most definitely Scots Gaelic being sung.
