"be not drunk with wine(drugs)"
You need not be addicted to wine to be drunk with it. Nor do you need to be drunk with it to be addicted to it. They're wholly separate conditions. Additionally, it only mentions wine, so stretching it to ALL drugs is, well, a stretch. As for being gay, I was referring to the mention in Corinthians, which condemns homosexuality in general, not just homosexual acts. Put your assumptions aside, I have no hate of homosexuals, I'm just reading your Bible.

Beskargam, what backward, hillbilly moonshine inspired version of the Bible do you read? First the Bible states "be not drunk with wine(drugs)" so drug addiction IS a sin. And there is no commandment against being gay but against homosexual acts. Sodom was destroyed "because of its great amount of sin." If that sin had been idolatry as was Jerusalems when it was destroyed Sodom would have still been destroyed. Put your hatred aside. The greatest command is to love, period. not just heterosexuals

To be fair, it would be pretty silly to believe that it was from nature while having an absence of genes identified as causative of homosexuality. It would be, mm, something of a leap of faith.

Problem: Being addicted to drugs isn't a sin. By a careful and reading-what-you-want-to-read interpretation of the Bible, you can come to the conclusion that drug abuse is a sin, but being addicted to a drug does not become one no matter how you interpret it. On the other hand, just being homosexual is a sin in the Bible. It's not the homosexual acts alone that are a sin (though they are depicted as sinful as well), but the simple state of being gay. So there's no real way to escape that sin.

What difference does it make if homosexuality is nature or nurture? God says its a sin and that's that! I'm a drug addict who now is a Christ-follower but still an addict. I no longer use drugs or alcohol because its a sin but my father and his father are both addicts. Is addiction nature or nurture? It doesn't matter b/c its a sin regardless and I no longer live in sin. A homosexual is no different and must choose to follow Christ and no longer live in homosexual sin or not!

All I know is that I agree that a marriage should be between a man and woman

As I said, it was a side note.
>Should we overturn the Emancipation Proclamation, as
>long as master and slave "consent" to the arrangement?
In some remote future date, YES. Maybe 2200 AD! But as long as slavery by consent runs ZERO risk of being misused to unfairly treat, subjugate or exploit a person, group, or race. However, I fail to see why a sane person would ever agree to be owned by another.
Likewise, I fully support assisted suicide, with caveats of course.
Good night!

To my knowledge the only Mormons who still practice it are offshoots of the mother church.
You're for quite a few offbeat choices. How about the civil right of the ownership of slaves? Should we overturn the Emancipation Proclamation, as long as master and slave "consent" to the arrangement?

>Polygamist lost their "civil right" for multiple partners
Just a side note: Mor(m)ons have in fact practiced it.

Now that is a good point you mentioned.
Polygamy/polyandry - I am all for it, except that it is almost always is used to subjugate and control women - as in Saudi Arabia or Kuwait. Hence it is bad. OTOH there is no harm when two guys or girls decide to marry & cohabit.
(BTW - I personally believe that IDEALLY, polyandry/polygamy/group marriage, all should be allowed. Sex is fun!)
I think it's sad we supported a man and even donated money for his election and Obama turns around and stabs his supporters in the back by putting this VILE and DISGUSTING man to "bless" his inaugeration. I have no respect for Obama now.

Open minded and intellectually curious also represents a president elect who has no problem INSULTING the many people who voted and supported him, and even donated money to get him elected. Obama stabbed many, many of his supporters in the back with this political gestures of "intellectual curosity" or did it occur to Obama that people have feelings.
