You don't seem aware that Toscanini was a sworn enemy of Hitler and Mussolini. And he was that in the thirties and forties, when it counted, not seventy years later when it's just ignorant posture.

I thought I was alone willing this. I don't know about you, for me it is Toscanini the maestro of my dream. Do you play an instrument? Not even me...Still I think maybe it is not impossible...Again this is Toscanini's fault ! When I listen him conducting I feel every little detail that gives life to music. I never felt this with an other conducter. I wish I can develop a writing system that could put down Toscanini's understanding on partitions.

It is my understanding that Arturo was the only musician in his family. I find that fascinating because he really had a great feel for music and able to convey it very well. Most good musicians have a heredity of music in their families.
