At the old 8 sided dance hall at Pinecrest Village near Manitowoc, Nennings Ballroom built in 1897, the spirit of the Bohemian style polkas by the legendary Romy Gosz Orchestra are remembered.
The Jerry Schneider Band was formed in June of 1967. The year 2009 marks 42 years of providing polka, waltz, and big band entertainment by the Jerry Schneider Band.
The band has a large library of German selections as well as some Czech polkas and waltzes. Most of the tunes are sung in one, two, and three way harmony plus many instrumentals. The Jerry Schneider Band has six members with a combination of trumpets, saxophones, clarinet, button accordians, keyboard, drums, and tuba.
The band has seven compact disc releases.
Jerry Schneider hosts his own live radio show every Saturday morning from 9am to noon on AM radio station 1450, KFIZ, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and AM radio station 950, WCLB, Sheboygan Falls, plus a pre-recorded one hour syndicated show aired on six other radio stations in Wisconsin and one station in upper Michigan every weekend. The band plays for many picnics, county fairs, polka festivals and German Fests in Wisconsin and surrounding states.
Very enjoyable Rano Polka. Down in Kansas we call it the Good Morning Polka. Very nice band. Keep it up.
