In the film, Maul hit Qui-Gon in the neck before stabbing him, Qui-Gon and his apprentice turned their lightsabers on after Maul, Obi-Wan talked to Qui-Gon, Maul swiped it across the energy pit twice, Maul's torso and legs fell into the pit, Maul kicked the padawan's lightsaber into the pit, Obi-Wan caught Qui-Gon's lightsaber while he was leaping, and Maul turned off his lightsaber once the walls activated. These were stuff that happened in the film that you don't believe happened.
