You know . . . does Wilber ever wonder about what the overall effect of what he says might actually be?

I was taught (and still believe, I guess?) . . . that telling the Truth is NOT telling the Truth . . . if Truth doesn't result.

Wilber often talks the Truth . . . but if people are not hearing it the way that he's meaning it . . . good things may not result. Indeed, just the opposite.

Now, tell me . . . how likely is it that people are really getting what Wilber is meaning?

I tried teaching Integral theory in the Current Trends and Issues in Psychology in Trinity Univedrsity of Asia in the Philippines 2 years ago. I bet no school teaches this in my country. The class had little entry competencies for this topic, so I admit I was not very successful. My students might be surprised that this paradigm might just be the most significant agent for spiritual, psychological, sociocultural, and political develeopments to happen in the whole world in this century.

Vertical is refering to development "up the ladder" so to speak. The colours are taken from something called "spiral dynamics" (partly by Don Beck)... really good stuff, you'd wanna check it out :)

What he says makes much sense. However he lost me once he got into the "vertical" explanation with reference to colors?

I think you've put your finger on the heart of the problem: Must well meaning Americans have no idea what their gov't is up to in much of the world - so someone like Saddam is SUPPORTED for many years and most Americans don't know, and then wheeled out and labelled "bad guy - go kill". Wilber DOES have his big intellect, and yet is knowledge of recent history is as bad as the mass of ordinary Amdericans
