I play drums so a very basic groove would be bass drum on 1 and 2+ ,cymbal/hi hat on 12345 snare on 4

What I love about this is the odd meter is almost hidden with great song construction. Vinnie playes it just right but the glory still needs to go to the composer. It is no accident that the off time signature is masked by the overall song, that is one thing Sting does very well.
