http://njaaps.org Like a growing number of physicians, Dr. Alieta Eck and her husband John Eck, MD do not see Medicaid patients in their practice because the red-tape hassles combined with the low reimbursement would -- before too long -- put them out of business. The two Doctors Eck have found a better, voluntary and non-government funded, way to fulfill the promise they made in the Oath of Hippocrates to treat the poor without consideration of payment; They see them for free in a standalone charity clinic completely outside of Medicaid's bureaucratic stranglehold. In her testimony before a Senate subcommittee on May 11, 2011, Dr. Eck tells the Senators about the Zaraphath Health Center (her charity clinic) and about the critical need for more doctors to follow a similar path. Medicaid comprises a full third of the budget of her state, New Jersey, and is replete with wasteful spending by government clinics where each patient visit costs taxpayers around $200. Dr. Eck has developed an innovative plan to cut costs, improve care -- and, by the way, fix the malpractice crisis -- benefiting the poor, the physicians, and the taxpayers.

  • Thank you aapsonline for showing Dr. Eck's full response. I applaud you for showing truth. I have seen her position misrepresented over and over again and I'm glad to see that you are showing her full response. This video should be spread.

  • if free health care is slavery, so is military protection. Just like heath care, which I am part of, the military, which I was a part of, is held to a standard of care, If it is slavery to expect you to take care of someone that comes and "beats down your down" it is slavery to expect those same volunteers to protect your rights in war and invasion. THE MILITARY IS SLAVERY IN THIS MANS OPINION

  • Aleita Eck's experience & proposal deserves attention from many who are truly interested in bettering the situation of massive tax money expenditure on treating the ill health of those not able to pay for their own care.

Bernie Sanders appears determined to keep government in the equation via "rights".

Rand Paul states very well what the idea of "right of health care" really means - conscription, slavery of those who are to provide that care.

Eck thinks charity while Sanders prefers slavery
