well that and romans had better armor and infantry. macedonians we amazing pikemen, but their sword was always a secondary weapon. for the romans, the sword was their primary weapon and the curve fo the towor shield allowed then to sliding in close past the pikes. once it became and up close melee, romans had the advantage. still its a shame that the roman cavelry only got good later in the empire's history, but the legions were amazing

you know the thing i like about rome total war is that arrows dont take forever to kill a person like in medieval 2 total war i honestly cant wait for rome 2 or medieval 3!!!
