http://www.bobmover.com presents Saxman Bob Mover in a live performance from May, 2008, at New York's Cleopatra's Needle.

Bob Mover - Alto Saxophone
Bob Albanese - Piano
Tom Kennedy - bass
Willard Dyson - drums

Check out Bob's new recording, his first in 20 years "It Amazes Me" on Zoho Music.

Jazz Times writes: "For reasons not always clear to listeners, some musicians remain underappreciated for years while others with only a modicum of talent have all the career breaks. It Amazes me, the first leading recording in more than two decades by alto/tenor saxophonist/singer Bob Mover (recorded in 2006), should cause many to ask why. It's Mover's playing on both saxes that will have many wondering how this man could so long have been flying under the radar."

  • I used to go see Bob mover back in the late 70s & early 80s at Sweet basils in the West Village on 7th ave south...... He never got any respect from the owner who oddly enough ended up losing 2 Jazz clubs to his freebase habit.... What a shame!! The last time I saw that guy who owned the club....he was downtown lookin' for something to smoke..... the man had it all and gave it all up to the glass dick...........Gospel truth!!

  • fly like a bird

  • it's cleopatra's needle dude, in NYC

it's a club, that serves food...

they are truly being too loud

  • Bob Mover is a groover!

  • Bob Mover is the real deal jazz alto player....very individual and every phrase is him....authentic....I love to hear him...always full of suprizes in his phrases and melodies too. He just rings true in his whole beautiful approach to the music. 5 stars for Bob !!!.

  • One of the most real videos of jazz in its own environment of the individual becoming part of the group -wonderfully real without tricks or gimmicks of any nature. This is the form of video I seek. From whence they came: you must look to find them; many exist. KC

  • Why Rubber Man instead of Lover Man, the real title of the standard (suppose it's a private joke?...)

  • I love Mover's tone, really nice, although the timing seems a little screwy possibly because they can't hear each other too well.

  • I'm a jazz musician and all, so of course I wouldn't be talking during this show... but this appears to be a restaurant. If i was playing a gig at a restaurant I really wouldn't be offended by people talking. There's a distinction between playing shows and background music, for me at least.

This group is great though, no doubt.

  • There is no shortage of stupid people. That's one thing we've got plenty of.
