Not true. Whistles were actually fitted to the noses of the bombs for psychological effect, it's a good example of non-kinetic use of air power.

Since the bomb is travelling at such a high speed, it displaces air particles during it's fall.
This displacement causes them (the air particles) to vibrate thus creating the 'whistle effect'.
A good allegory is the 'swoosh' sound made by badminton/tennis rackets when you move them at high speed. The denser the object, the more 'swoosh' noise it should be making at high speed.

because of the air that go's around it, for example if you have a stick and you smash as hard as you can in the air you hear the wind this is the same with a bomb but because it go's so fast you hear a whistle.

never under stood why a bomb has that whistling sound when its falling Does anyone else no why.
