This is a family video of Gig Harbor frozen over! I believe the year is 1950 (not 1949 as the captions state). The music is my own composition.

Not Yoko and Lennon. It's me. I made the music. I can understand why some people think it's irritating. I'm proud of it, though.

It's color film. Color film existed well before 1950.

Even from the wx reports I cant see if this was 1949 or 50? I WAS THERE. I REMEMBER IT WELL. I REMEMBER SEEING TWO CARS OUT ON THE ICE..... FOR CERTAIN!!! MAYBE 3. I am 73 now, I was 9 or 10. From the wx reports it was in Jan, but it is not clear if it was 49 or 50.

My mother skated across Gig Harbor during this same period with her own skates as she was always prepared for fun. Bright lights, music playing, and one of her highlights of growing up in Gig Harbor. Thanks for the video, as it is one memory that she will never forget.

I'm surprised so many people had ice skates since ice is rare in GH. That one guy skating backwards is really good:)

Actually, I was on the bay when I was 4 years old. I wasn't in this movie but I can remember ice skaters using flares out in the distance. My mother would not let go of me while I was on the ice. I still remember my older brother falling through the ice next to this dock in the video. He thought he was jumping on a log covered with snow. It wasn't there in the water. So he fell through. It was one of the reasons I remember the experience.
