The first of the four solo albums I'm reviewing

The video clips all come from Kissology 1, 2, and 3. All rights to these movies belong to KISS, Vh1 Classic, Mtv, and Viacom. The producer and co-producer are Alex and Roger Coletti respectively

  • This is not the weakest of the solo albums. Peter's is. I like this album a lot. I know it is kind of corny but I love Gene's version of When You Wish Upon A Star. I also like MR Make Believe and Man of 1000 faces. "Who's The Man?" Gene is of course.

  • No I have to disagee, I prefer Peters over Gene and I'm not a big Peter person, Radioactive, See You Tonight, Mr.Make Believe and When You Wish Upon A Star are the only songs I like off this album.

  • I wish I knew how to make cool vids like yours! I think they are awesome!!!

  • Thank you for that, Ace's video will blow this one out the water. I'm really working hard on his. On gene's, maybe I could of done more but.. I wasn't up to spending that much time on it.

  • 6:17 is just creepy.

  • @Orangeman334 I agree. Peter's record was unfairly panned. They all have their merits. Ace sold the most I think, which I am certain pissed Gene off.

  • This was my first KISS record. I saw Gene on tv during a promo clip when I was 4 and was hooked from the start. I think Paul said it best when he said that many people listen with their eyes. When I got this record I was so fascinated with Gene's persona that he couldn't have done any wrong in my eyes. I got the rest of the solo albums within a couple of months and found myself listening to Paul's album the most even though I thought Gene was the coolest member of KISS.

  • Woah ok at 6:17 thats just horrifing

  • @dropbeer no way was gene's the worst. pete's sucked 10-fold. i think gene's was the most creative. he even brought in cher and katie sagal (peg bundy) for a couple of songs

  • I never noticed how unbalanced these songs are it's like they're going one then he slams on the brakes and takes it somewhere different. Doesn't flow, at all.

I guess he need Paul for the hooks.

  • I think maybe Ace's was the best. Gene's and Pauls only SOUND more like KISS, which is obviously what the fans wanted.

I know I was dissapointed as hell (as a 10 yr. old Kid) in Peters album cause it wasn't "rockin'" enough.

  • Even though we disagree you did a great job on the video man. I can look past our differeneces in opinion lol.

  • I agree that Genes album was by far the worst. The only good song is Radioactive. I would give it a 4.

  • I would have preferred Ace's solo to have been my outright fave, since he has really been my fave member. His album still rocks, however it is Gene & Paul's I have to acknowledge as best 2. I love Gene's completely because of various styles of sounds over 11 songs. I love his comments regarding this in the "Behind the Mask" book by acknowledging he can like or enjoy two distinctly different bands like ABBA and Led Zeppelin ignoring stupid barriers. I think "SYIYD" on this is easy better version.
