The iconic "Act on Instinct" is part of the Command & Conquer soundtrack by Frank Klepacki. This is the original version without any edits, taken directly from the game itself. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn is the first of a successful series of RTS computer games that began in 1995. As of 2010, three sequels of the game exist.

I put some cut scenes from the game in, just in case you want to remember what it was like.

  • @TheCabal I will explain why I agree with you

original C&C under westwood didnt have cheesy dialog & clinche lines

the unit & structure design was a perfect mix of reality & bit of imagination

there were special units but they were not overbearing like a B movie

  • 0:28 if see the obelisk of light and yet you keep driving towards it then it's fucking natural selection

  • I love this song. Even better than Hell March.

  • THIS is the best C&C song. Hell March is so fucking overrated.

  • Thanks to EA, it got ruined completely. Too many freaked out weapons, fast style game, shitty music, too many freaky bitches.

The only thing which was very good, creative and nice to play, was C&C Generals, which in fact has nothing to do with the C&C series!

  • Zero Hour and C&C3 are actually pretty good games.

  • This game was the start from my gaming life at the computer, I begged my father to let me put a CD-ROM in it , a Quad speed for over 100$ back then. Great times, I have never forgot C&C, but those times will never come back im afraid. Westwood rocked.

  • @Advima Generals wasn't really a generic modern war game, I haven't seen any other Modern RTSs apart from World in Conflict (Which has no base building which I don't like that much) apart from Generals. There's only ever WW2 ones like Company of Heroes or Men of War or Command and Conquer. Also C&C 4 automatically bad without question. WITH. OUT. QUESTION. The ones previous to C&C 4 though I liked a lot.

  • @Sly88Frye You'll notice that i didn't disagree with you that RA3 is okey, i think the humor went a bit too far, but it's still a fun game. :)

And well, that's just how the C&C style works, allways have.. which is why Generals was so jarring, it was more like playing Age of Empires or Warcraft, construction wise, it was still a decent game, it just didn't seem like a C&C game.

And personaly i really really hated C&C 4, but yeah, you'll have to try it yourself of course.

  • @Advima What's strange in every C&C game except Generals is that you build buildings with buildings, lol!

Now, I have yet to play C&C 4. I really don't know what to think of that game, but I enjoy all the rest of the C&C games.

I really think judging by the hate that the traditionalists have towards EA's games, I think they are holding a grudge and not keeping an open mind. Red Alert 3 added some amazing new elements to the RTS genre. You can build your base on land and in water too.
