Panama City,Florida was and remains one of the greatest vacation spots on earth! For kids in the Southern United States it was the place to go and drink your first beer and God knows what other firsts. Today, progress and removed the ma and pa motels where the teens and their familes stayed and played. Some were nice and others were dumps. BUT they were at the beach and it was fun! I am so glad I shot this crapy film and I am thrilled it has turned up after some 30 plus years missing. Enjoy.
Noted journalist Don Mosely is the other beach boy in the film. I was really skinny! Wow...

  • I'm sitting here on Thomas Drive balling my eyes out. After coming to PCB since the fifties, my Dad bought condo at Sea Side Villas in 1972. The last of the real good times. (we still have the same place--I'm there now.) Peace and Love

  • Ohhhh how I hated that Starliner! Raised on PCB... I miss the dunes sooo much! I could hear the train from Petticoat Junction from my house as a kid. It was awesome! MSAP was WAYYY better hands down. I still live here and enjoy every day I can on the water or at the beach..and even work on the water still. Catering to those who wanna enjoy this life as well.... I will prolly never work a job off the saltwater Emerald Coast!! Just me... ☺ thanks for sharing!!!!!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this video! The goofy golf course is still on front beach and has been repainted. I remeber the the miracle strip roller coaster, it was my first roller coaster and scared me white as a ghost. Alot of the places in this video were still around in 92 when i was a kid. I remeber being able to ride down the road and see the beach, now i just see condos and concrete. Still upset they tore down the King Neptune statue!

  • May not be great footage, but remember what you had to shoot with. LOL So glad you found this! Thanks for sharing. Native PCB ☼

  • Awesome. This was definitely the hay day of PCB. I was 12-13 years old when this was taken and we went there quite often. I got a lump in my throat when I saw the top of the strip tower. Wow.

  • Fantastic

  • It's changed for the worse since about 2000 or so.

  • Great shots..I moved here in 1980 and most of those places were already gone.

  • I'm jealous that I never got to experience Panama City this way.

  • We moved to PC in 1962, two days after my high school graduation in Texas. I'm back in Texas, been away from PC for 10 years, only get home now and then, but once you've been touched by the sand, sun, and water, you're theirs forever.

BEACH PARTY!!!!! OLD DUTCH!!!! The places yo mama told you to stay away from...hahahahahahah!
