definition of a tier 1 hero:
someone who knowingly deos something with a 90-100% probability of death to protect a civilian population. (the guys at chernoble went on the roof of the building with sholvels and sholved radioactive sludge back into the reactor. they knew for a fact that doing this would mean their death, and yet they did it no questions asked. whether you like the soviets or not thats amazing.) these people are the TRUEST definition of hero. and we can not thank them enough.

@yourtreat2 You act as though they weren't providing a service that millions of people DEPEND on. This isn't arbitrary risk. Some of the higher ups may have made some poor decisions but they aren't the ones poisoning themselves to make up for it. It's workers like you and me VOLUNTEERING to do what is necessary to protect the community at the ultimate personal cost. Would you kill yourself for your neighbors? Strangers? Have some humility and recognize humanity at it's finest.
thanks for making this gunns. These workers are trying to save their country by basically sacrificing their own lives. These workers will probably never get cancer as the levels of radiation they are getting can and will die of radiation sickness. They are heros and deserve the highest level of respect.

Good Job, Gunns! You are right. These are people who are dying, and have died. We Americans haven't had to deal with anything like this. Despite any differences between America and Japan, our governments have put them behind them. Why can't you all. Pearl Harbor was 60 fucking years ago. We lost a few hundred people, and then we dropped the A Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I'm sure they lost more. John Lennon said it best. Give peace a chance. Pray for Japan. Fuck the haters!
