I finally managed to save enough money for a new computor along with a few games and programs. I tested Sony Vegas 7 or 8 a while back and liked it, now I have one of the version 10's and thought I'd do a test. I'm getting the hang of it rather quick thankfully. I've figured out how to do eyeball motion that I want to use in TRoS and also how to animate things using keyframes and chroma keying. If anyone knows how to get rid of the boarders the chroma keying leaves on please tell me, it's evident with the chimney bit. Anyway, that's all this is, it doesn't even qualify to be a Youtube Poop as it's just a badly done test, but I think I can work on this. Comments and advice welcome.

  • For the effects such as the one at 0:29, try selecting 'No' in the 'Maintain Aspect Ratio' box, and cropping out the black sides, that way the trucks don't appear to go off into the black.

  • @TheFattHatt1943 - Thanks for the tip :) I was trying to get them into the black on this occasion though. However, what I wanted when I got Thomas to shoot into the screen was the same (to go off into the black) but this time it was restricted by the black, unsure why.

  • for the border thing all you need to do is find something that says feather and feather the edges

  • @flyingtardis - Thankyou very much!! It took a while finding it and I found it in the cookie cutter, works amazingly! Cheers. :)

  • lol!

  • wow sony vegas, it was too much for me to learn so I dumped it

i can no longer learn anything new, old brain syndrome

nice tests but don't get carried away with wizard effects in post, the real magic can be done in camera..!

  • Congratulations on the SONY Vegas and new computer. Can't say much about it, but still, congratulations.

  • I also recently got Sony Vegas myself and it's a very great program, some troubles but im getting the hang of it

  • ZOMG HAX!!!! SITTIN' ON DA TOILET!!!

  • Ah I see you used the same program as I do, I couldn't be able to understand how to use these kind of effects you used when Thomas was about to fall into the mine but instead crashed into the screen, then Thomas' eyes moved and how Thomas' funnel cracked off. It may not look that bad for your first try but I wish I can try to do the same stuff as how you did with Sony Vegas 10.0.

  • @sparkshot salright
