You can't beat a one-touch superautomatic espresso machine in terms of convenience, but how do some of the models compare against each other? Gail shows us how the Jura Z5, DeLonghi Gran Dama and Saeco Primea superautomatic espresso machines work, weighing in on their pros and cons.

  • I have a Delonghi esam 5600 and the coffee it makes is not hot enough so i going to take it back is there a machine the same that makes a lot hotter coffee

  • @gerrad000 Probably the hottest is from the Jura superautomatics, as they have an internal brew group that is a little bit better insulated. On some of the models you can also specify shot temp -- definitely take a look at their options for a hotter shot - kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear will the jura c9 and the jura z7 also make hotter cappuccino than the delonghi 5600 and witch of the jura one touch machines would you recommend

  • @gerrad000 Well, the coffee will be hotter, but the milk is probably going to be similar -- auto froth is never very hot. We just tested the new DeLonghi Magnifica S Cappuccino one touch and it is HOT, though. The coffee on it is probably the hottest we've tested on a superautomatic, so you could consider that model, too. Much hotter than the previous DeLonghi machines. - Kat

  • Kat/Gail, when reviewing of superautomatic espresso machines with automatic/one-touch milk frothing/steaming capabilities, such as the Jura Impressa C9, Z5, or Z7, would it be possible to measure the temperature of both frothed and steamed milk and report on the temperature, please?

I am considering purchasing a new Impressa C5 (with optional accessory: Professional Cappuccino Frother, Art. 67693) or C9 One Touch. The temp of the steamed milk/froth will be the deciding factor. Need 150F. Thnx!

  • @cninham Again, responded to your other comments... - Kat

  • Hi, thanks for all your great videos, they are very informative. Could you please advise whether the C9 and S9 models are capable of producing the same silky microfoam that you just made with the Z5, and whether the lattes that they produce equal the Z5? Thanks

  • @TastyZwieback We are aware of this but it's not something easily communicated over the phone, so have Anglicized it for that reason alone. If we were speaking to folks in German, this would work well, but we're not :) - Kat

  • It is pronounced "YURA" --Jura is a Swiss German company in origin, and J's are always prounounced as a "Y" in the German Language :-)

  • @ScorpyProduction They have just released a newer version of the Primea in the US; not sure if the issues with the milk sensors, etc., that we saw with the first Primea have been resolved...too new to know. But I agree, the first round of these was very temperamental. - Kat

  • The Primea is the worst of all machines! I had too much trouble with it. :-(
