Mark Dever, Mark Driscoll, James MacDonald—council members for The Gospel Coalition—discuss evangelism, particularly the pastor's responsibility to preach the gospel in every sermon.
The Gospel should be somewhere in every sermon not only for the unsaved visitor to hear, but for the saved member to be reminded. The church is not actually for the unsaved, but the gathering of the called out for growth, exhortation, and reproof; the unsaved should not feel comfortable there-either they're drawn by God or they'll leave. The Gospel or sermon should convict the unsaved, while equipping us to go preach to the unsaved so we bring new converts to church.
we are all dependent upon Christ you cannot make a DECISION to follow Christ,,,unless the Holy Spirit works in you you will not come to Christ,,,we are not able to do this on our own,,,you have to ask Jesus to save you,,,to change you into a new creature,,,this is why people sit in church for 30 yrs and never get saved
Why is this even a question? Look at Judah Smith and his church. He and the other elders preach Jesus EVERY week, and look at their church. It's Jesus that will change lives, believer or non believer, it's the MOST powerful word you can preach, why you would miss that in ANY sermon is beyond me.
@jaredontv If you're shocked, maybe that should open your mind somewhat and possibly try and figure out why. Ultimately, you might find out that those you "think" are so different actually have more in common with those we revere and respect than we thought. Same gospel, different delivery.

@Swenfamily10 when you are speaking thousands of people the Holy Spirit will go forth and lead people to repentance. Ever see a Billy Graham crusade?

Mark Driscoll "If your a member of the church don't come and talk to me" is NOT cool. That is not a heart of a sheppard.

@ECorriz Elaboration? How is making the Gospel central to every sermon a "false" movement? Thanks.
