@mongchilde you mean worst?

I agree with that up until you said it died after 1990. 1990 was a dreadful world cup.

to tell truth, the man who marked (rather, who offered to mark) maradona against italy in 86 was salvatore bagni, not nando de napoli. when el pibe de oro scored, though, it was poor gaetano scirea who was outpaced by him.

Last good world cup was Japan/South Korea in 2002

I agree. I think South Africa 2010 is great so far, except for cheaters.
Props to South Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, and African Nations for playing the game CLEAN, unlike the dirty European & American Players!

Argentina Vs. S. Korea was played in Mexico DF Olympic stadium, not in Irapuato.
I agree with mediwarm. back in those days football was more territorial and national so players weren't in every league. a national side really was a national side. now the WC is bloated, with medicore players who have no identity. You don't see individual goals anymore, the bastards are on the ground more than they are up and the whol atmosphere is lacking. In Mexico 86 you could feel the passion and drama. If you ask me the WC died after 1990.

I agree. Best World Cup ever, followed closely by Spain'82.
