im iranian and he is iranian i have to tell you that cinema in iran is very weak and shitty but when we have kiarostami we have some one to be proud of...

He false advertisement. That was not a review, but a lame lip-sync to a song that was just tangentially related to the theme of "Taste of Cherry". Thanks, but no thanks.

I, in the other hand, think Badii did die. This just makes the film even more optimistic. Accepting that there will always be suicides and suffering in the world allows us to appreciate life for its beauty when we are able to see it. That is the message here, otherwise it would say *do not kill yourself no matter what*

I don't think Badii died. He seemed to want to live by the end of it, going after the old man like that. I doubt a film as optimistic as this one, one which makes life seem so much better than we think, would end as depressing as it would if Badii died.

Yeah, at the time I thought it was perfect up until the inconclusive postmod ending. But it's quite a movie all the same, almost as personal as a novel which is a rare accomplishment.

I sorta had my two day thought on the ending and had a really long conversation with a friend about it, and he agreed....so I feel like its complete.
