The sun in World of Warcraft is kinda static. It only moves up and down, and not in a arc like the sun in the real world does. This means that we are all used to that same sun direction everywhere.
Now "if" one could go and control the sun position the world would change completely, and rotating it 180 degrees can make it hard to see where you actually are in-game.
And that is a interesting fact.
So this was obvious as a feature for Wow Machinima Tool. Moving the sun giving you not only control of the acturall direction but also makes it possible to make old scenes look brand new.

Is this live? Has it been removed from your machinima tool in the 4 months since this was posted? I've only just discovered this wonderful program and was really hoping to play with the sun position myself, but the only thing I can find that relates to the sun at all is the time settings block. WoW's in-game time settings are not extreme enough for what I want--even at midnight it's all very well-lit.
Thanks for all the work on your machinima tool. :)
