@jackrumorz anything above 70% and with zero milk additives is considered "healthy." The higher you go, the more pure and more beneficial, but it's very bitter until you get used to it. Also, as much as possible, get it organic and raw. Roasting the beans before producing the chocolate helps with flavor but does kill a lot the flavanoids. Cooking the finished product (like most major manufacturers) does the same thing without helping flavor. Good on you for quitting smoking!! That is awesome!

YEAH!!! I love dark chocolate. and milk chocolate ,too.. I want to ..ㅠㅠ,,

How much % cacao is considered healthy chocolate? The highest I found in my local grocery is 86% of cacao. It's a little bitter but I love the taste as I was used to drinking black coffee. Now, just like you, I quit coffee and smoking completely.

so tim do you eat a full size bar at a time or do you nibble on one bar throughout the week?

Ah, depends on how big the bar is, doesn't it...;-)
I buy the large 3.5 oz size bars and eat it on Thurs/Fri afternoon. I usually can't get thru the whole bar in those 2 days (but have occasionally ;-). I also dip it in almond butter ("Your almond butter is in my chocolate...NO, your chocolate is in my almond butter").
Depends on my activity level (I don't drink tea/coffee, so I really feel the caffeine in DC) and if I'm craving it...which usually means my body wants an antioxidant.

(If you are not old enough, you will not recognize the phrase in quotes above. I was being silly for those over 35 who will recognize the phrase).

Nix the p butter, stick to the almond alternative. Too many issues with peanuts for a lot of people.
You will get used to the DC...I didn't like it as a child, now I love it. I do the 85% variety. Potent stuff.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who discovered the way that dark chocolate helps with weight loss. I like Hershey's Special Dark and have some every day. That was one of the ways I dropped 30 lbs. Thanks for passing along the tip.

People do underestimate its benefits. As long as it's used in conjunction with a diet that works for the person, it is of fantastic benefit. I personally would not use Hershey's, preferring the fair-trade organic, but it was good to hear you chime in with your personal results.
