@DallasNeedsADentist There is late night adult comedy. (Do I need to say more about mockery of God etc) I dont want to upset or anger you...I am a fan of John MacArthur too, but until last year, I also could be found watching Family Guy, American Dad, and alot of TV shows that simply are not worth the trash stuffed in between the occasional (usually dirty) joke. We develop a sense of callousness to mockery of Christians and morals when immersing ourselves in TV like that or 99% of fantasy today.

All have sinned and greatly offended the holy God of the bible. The just punishment is death then hell. That's not Gods will. He suffered and died on the cross paying for the law you broke in His life's blood so He could legally dismiss your case. You must repent turn from your sin and trust alone in Jesus Christ for your salvation.

@Kenaniah82 - I admit there are a lot of bad influences but I play video games which are usually all fantasy. I think that if Jesus were sitting next to me He would approve. My video games are the Ratchet and Clank series and they all have a good moral. All I'm saying is that we shouldn't have to stay away from EVERYTHING that is possibly unrealistic as long as we maintain our faith and know what is and isn't real. Daily Bible study will help with this. :)

@DallasNeedsADentist ...and just have no bearing on how to live a Godly, moral Christian live. Honestly, I do see your view. I held it a few years back myself. Not having a TV isn't a death sentence. I love TV. Its awesome.. Its great to relax to it. But I seldom do. There is so much evil on nowadays. And not just blatant evil like 'Saw'. There is subtle evil, like reality shows which stir sinful emotions in us (if nothing other than envy or jealousy).

@DallasNeedsADentist Without causing an imfamous YouTube argument (which I hate), let me see if I can't answer a little of your concern. I was there that night she asked that question. I have to agree. Why immerse yourself in unbelievable fantasy and unrealistic romances and cross creature lovers when you have God's Word, Christian books, and Godly living? There's no need. We have SO MUCH BETTER. It's just not worth it to get involved with things that aren't true, aren't based on reality,...

So...what would he think about Harry Potter...? Anyways I think that he's being a little bit paranoid here as much as I love John macarthur. So what are we supposed to do? Not have TVs? Not have an imagination? Are we supposed to live in a cave? Come on, a little bit of fiction is fine as long as you can recognize the source and know that it is fictional, maintianing faith in God, which is real. There are fantasy things that actually have a GOOD MORAL to them!

That movie was awful. A romance story with vampire-fantasy thrown in. The real word is better than that.
@DallasNeedsADentist - I don't think you get the point. The things that we allow into our lives influence us. The main question you have to ask yourself is "If Jesus were sitting next to you would you still watch the movie?" We are called to a higher standard than the world with no compromises. It seems you're taking this a bit personally when you say things like "Are we supposed to live in a cave?" Of course imagination and fiction are good things but we need to filter our entertainment.
