On this video, Art Blakey jams alongside trumpet player Wynton Marsalis in a concert that dates from 1982. It features Art Blakey on drums and musical director Wynton Marsalis on Trumpet flanked by his brother Branford Marsalis and Bill Pierce on alto & tenor sax. Donald Brown plays piano and Charles Fambrough on standup bass. Inspired performance of Donald Browns New York. Filmed at the Smithsonian Institute.

  • Great Brakey seems to be old ,but expect more performance for ever

  • Sounds Goog as ever!

  • How this has only 840 views and the Dumb shit that wynton did with Eric clapton has hundreds of thousands is beyond me. Ahh the ignorance LMAO check out 4:11 LOL ART BLAKEY !!!!

  • On the hour-long video credit is given to Branford for the tenor and Pierce for the baritone sax. Obviously this is a mistake as Branford plays the entire hour on the alto and Billy is on the tenor.

  • Bill Pierce is clearly playing a tenor sax...

    Fantastic video!!!

  • @hex309 alto.

  • Branford Marsalis on Tenor Sax ? Alto?
