This really is very nice. Has to be one of the great unsung Olympic freeskating performances. So much to like in here--the choreography, the carriage, the height of the "fly" in the flying sit (AND the "sit"!), and I also love how he makes Dick Button eat his words about holding back on the triple salchow! Great skating!
Gorgeous, swooping edges and back crossovers to die for! You can also see the influence of figures: the nifty little edge/direction changes that happen so fast you'll miss them if you blink at the wrong time. I'd rather watch a program like this any day than one filled with contorted spin positions and botched quad attempts. Bravo, Gary, wherever you are!
Wonderful....vunderball!! So happy to find this......great post and a great champion...Those were the days, early 60's, Scottie Allen, Tim Wood, Gary Visconti!!! Terrific!
Taught me everything I know.
