Second Chances Chapter 7

Recap~ I started laughing and looked up at them. "PONED!!" ~

They looked at me weirdly, I can not believe I just said that! "uh, its," I need an excuse, I haven't said that in so long. The boys- That's it! "The Jonas Brothers say it." I nervously laughed. They joined my laughing. We continued eating like we normally do. Them talking about work and random things and me just eating, listening to my ipod. Only this time was different, I listened to them instead of my ipod. After dinner I usual do the dishes, so I got up to clear the table.

"Ann, I'll clean up tonight. Why don't you go to bed or something." Molly smiled at me.

I smiled at them then grabbed my ipod. I ran up the stairs yelling, "Thanks" on my way. I got in my room and shut the door behind me. I changed into some PJs then got into bed. I turned my ipod on and studied the poster of Nick. He has changed so much. I wonder if he will recognize me. I rubbed my eyes then sat up. I jumped out of my bed and went into my closet. I knelt down and lifted up the lose floor board. I took out a small box and lifted the cover. I took out a stack of papers, my songs, and then my money. I set my money on my lap. I reached into the box one last time and took out two pictures. Both of them where very worn and priceless. On was of my real mom. I smiled at it, we looked a lot alike. The other was the only picture I had of me and Nicolas. We were eleven, we had been washing Mrs. Jonas' car and got all soapy. She had insisted on taking a picture. I am so glad I have it. I sighed then set the pictures back into the box. I put my songs on top of the pictures then counted my money. $2,000.00. I gathered it then walked out of my room. I needed to find Jack and Molly, I had a plain. I found them in the kitchen. "Guys?"

They turned around. Molly saw the money in my hands and her eyes widened. "Where did you get that?"

"I've been saving it."

"How much is there?" Jack asked.

"$2,000.00" I answered.

"Wow, well shouldn't it be in a bank?"

"Yeah, that's exactly what I wanted to talk to you about."

Molly dried her hands off then sat down, "Sit down, you two." We sat. "Now Ann. What were you thinking?"

I took a breath, "Well I was thinking that I should put most of it in the bank, but I wanted to get contacts and some new clothes."

"Bank sounds good. It isn't save to have that much money in the house, we will do it right now." Jack said getting up. "We will get you your own account and a card."

"Okay, are they still open?" I asked getting up also.

"Its only about 7, they are. Get ready, I'll be waiting in the car." with that he walked out. I walked back up to my room. I went to my closet and put $50.00 in the box and put it back underneath the floorboard. I slipped on some pants and put the money in my bag. I walked down stairs and waved by to Molly. I got into the car and we drove off to the bank. An hour later we walked out of the bank. I had my own account, check book and debit card "Thanks Jack," I said smiling at him.

"No problem, if you ever need anything just ask." He smiled back at me and unlocked the car. We drove back to the house in a comfortable silence. A couple minutes later he pulled into the driveway. We walked into the house.

"How did it go?" Molly asked us, getting up from the couch.

"It went good, Ann has her own account now, I have some work to finish before tomorrow, Have fun talking ladies." Jack smiled then walks to his office.

"I set up an eye appointment for you tomorrow, I called the school and told them that you wouldn't be attending. Is that okay for you?"

I smiled at Molly, "That's great, I don't work till 3, do you think we could go shopping after?"

She smiled at me. "Of course. I'm going to go talk to Jack, see you tomorrow Ann, the appointment is at 9 so get up when you feel like it." She smiled one last time before disappearing around the corner. I smiled to myself then walked up to my room. I closed my door behind me and changed into my PJs, put my ipod on, and got into bed for the second time that night. I know its weird, but I have been doing it since he left, I said goodnight to Nick. I am actually excited to go to the concert. After tomorrow nobody would be able to recognize me. Especially him, considering he hasn't seen me in 3 years. I look at his face one more time before closing my eyes and drifting to sleep.
