Dr. Boyce watkins speaks on the beef between Ice T and Soulja Boy.

The list of most powerful black women includes:
Oprah Winfrey
Condoleeza Rice
Cathy Hughes of BET
Wendy Williams from WBLS

There are many others on the list, which can be found in Ebony and Essence Magazine, as well as BET (Black Entertainment Television). Other notables might include Jada Pinkett Smith, wife of black star Will Smith, Alicia Keys, Tina Turner, Queen Latifah, and more. The black celebs power list would include Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, Laurence Fishburn, Cuba Gooding Jr., Halle Berry, Eddie Murphy, Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry (House of Payne, which isn't a very good show by the way).

In all their forms, these actors remind us of the importance of black love, african american achievement, and black success. The notion that they can take the place of black leaders such as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Cornel West, Dr. Boyce Watkins, Michael Eric Dyson or Marc Lamont Hill is remote. However, black hollywood has always been a place to look for the leading figures in the African American communuity. At least it's better than the hip hop and bootie shaking they show on BET!

  • encourage young people to be intelligent, creative and progressive, but soulja boy's music does not sdo that...he talks about getting F's on his report card, as if that is all black youth is capable of! His music promotes gratuitous sexual acts amongst young people that have barely popped out of the womb. We need to be open to the next generation of music, but why is the next generation always so DEGENREATIVE?

  • good/Bad

    Black/white

    East/west

That's it huh? That's the way it is?

    Time to evolve.

Let me know when you are ready to go to the next level.

  • yo bcuz u play a guitar it dont make it rock & roll,so bcuz people rhyme it dont make i hip-hop

  • Hip hop is about havin fun. Soulja boy may not be the best role model but his music is fresh fun and funky thats hip hop.

  • @jmoon23 obviously you haven't seen his twitter then. Cause he talks about the media and his record label forcing him to make songs, lyrics and an image that he doesn't want to create, because this way, he has so many haters and then all his sponsors get more money and recognition through this.

  • How can you defend Soulja Boy? Intelligence, energy, spirit, and creativity? Soulja Boy has NONE of these. Since when is going "YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUA" creative or intelligent in any way? Soulja Boy fucking sucks, it's disturbing how popular he is. His rap doesn't hold shit to classics and neither does most other new rap for that matter, its a degeneration.

  • This dude isn't a hip hop professor, he's a financial psychologist for black folks and a motivational speaker. This dude is the People's Scholar but I wouldn't say he's a Professor of Hip Hop. Yourblacklife, you need to correct the title.

  • i do da soulja boi and get him his munny cuz his ringtone sooooo dam sexxiii on my cellie

  • yeah the game changes, but not for the worse its supposed to be improving.

  • @jmoon23 Because the world is degenerate. White corps have turned black people into sexual pawns of perversion.

  • Soulja boy, discovered on YouTube, had the biggest record in the WORLD, not just the US.
