Pilots Do Not keep fireplace free of condensation. It actually produces a lot of it. The biggest by-product of burning gas-natural or LP is water. Most pilots are producing about an ounce of water per hour. While the unit is on or burning it produces almost an ounce of water per one thousand BTU's. i.e.- 40,000 BTU unit which is maximum for Vent-free or ventless is producing 40 Ounces of water an hour. That is A LOT of water.

people as a tech, if you want your F.P to last, leave your pilot on, the little bit of heat and little bit of gas it uses, keeps the FP free of condensation, thus stops the inside from rusting.

i need help D: when i hold the pilot and hit the ignite button there's fire but after 45 sec holding it down but once i release the pilot button the fire goes away....
