Ukraine leaves Europe without gas - Gazprom

Russian energy company Gazprom says Ukraine is responsible for gas cuts affecting more than a dozen European countries. Russia says it has been forced to stop shipments of gas through Ukraine after supplies were being siphoned off. Many EU states are now facing fuel shortages as the continent is gripped by a cold winter snap.

1. Ukraine, Belarus and Kazachstan - living standard even lower than in Russia, which means Russians would be paying for their misery in case of unification.

2. Georgia, Tajikistan etc - poverty, ethnic conflicts, discrimination against Russians.

3. Have you seen how much trouble Russia had in Chechnya? If they can barely take a few rebels, how could they fight against an entire souverein country?

I'm all for getting gas and anything else from somewhere else than russia. People will always, if given the choice, choose the better more reliable option. Russia needs to compete with what peolpe want not try and force the world like it has always done. Keep digging that hole foryourself.
