This is a test of a small MidNite Solar designed wind turbine designed to be deployed and operational in less than 4 minutes on a Hum-Vee or other military vehicle and to generate 50 to 100 watts in 12 MPH winds. The blades fold back after pulling a pin and pivoting the blades back. This prototype is actually an SLA model made from very fragile plastic material and did not have the entire gamut of magnets so only generated around 150 watts or so here. Maximum power will be 500 Watts and MPPT controller will be going with it.

  • You don't need mppt for wind. Check out our charge controllers

  • Very cool idea. Will it have a telescoping mast?
