m m m m . . . the difference between a praxinoscope and a zootrope, is that the original praxinoscope is a projector, it has a lamp over the drum, and one of the mirrors inside the drum reflects the image while it is turning around through a box with a window and everything is against a wall. LIKE A CINEMATOGRAPH, THAT´S WHY IT IS A PREDECESOR OF IT.
I HOPE THIS EXPLANATION HAD SENSE FOR YOU

Those thins are freaking epic. I swear they are.

Cool gift. Especially with what looks to be Muybridge's famous footage.
Question: are you projecting this onto a wall or screen? If so, how are you able to project?
-

Hey! that's Eadward Muybridge's horse on that praxinoscope

A Praxinoscope is a Zoetrope with mirrors instead of viewing slots.
So, where can I get one? I want a praxinoscope, too!!!

This is `Le galop de Daisy`, Eadweard Muybridge, 1878, made with 24 photos.
thanks sinik75! hughesms, if you mean a Zoetrope I think they're the ones with slots in the sides of a revolving drum.
