This lady looks so much like my grandmother. She made her biscuits in the same way. You are blessed to have captured this on video. I sure wish I could have done that with my grandmother.

You can't get this kind of cooking in the North.

Absolutely LOVE this!! It's like a step back in time to my mamaw's kitchen and Formica countertops... Same ingredients.. Same technique.. And mamaw would sometimes make drop biscuits if we were running late for Sunday morning service.. Lol.. My mama passed this biscuit down to me and I will make sure my teen daughter knows it to teach her children.. (seeing how they can't write it down because no one knows measurements.. It's always a handful of this, a pinch of that.. Lol) thanks for sharing!!

These biscuits, are they what the english or australians might call scones?? or at least a derivative?
has she ever tried 300 ml (metric) of lemonade and the same of cream with 3 cups of sifted SR flour. Very light and fluffy as long u don't knead them too much.

@griffsmob No, these are in no way scones. They are light and fluffy. They are perhaps akin to a scone. Usually the dough is rolled out flat and cut with a biscuit cutter into shape. She prefers to shape them by hand. This creates what is called a "cat head" biscuit.

I don't cook, so could you please explaib Why she uses the sifter instead of just putting the flour in the bowl? Is she mixing in something else with it?

She sifts the flour in case it has lumps in it. She uses self-rising flour, shortening, and buttermilk in her biscuits.
