@arashmets Everything you mentioned is not condoned by Islam. These are either cultural things completely separate of Islam or things that people who have misinterpreted the Quran have done. Your idea of Islam has been skewed by media malpractice. Go educate yourself with an unbiased source of information. Keep in mind that there are no true Islamic governments in the world and that whatever your conclusion is about Islam, there are still peaceful Muslims, ones that don't get media coverage.

@IsMyNameYourName My point minombreestunombre is that they don't follow their own prophet.I've read a lot into this, so I do know that the application of the ideals for Islam, like other religions often does not meet their ideal. Conquer & convert by the sword was prevalent with Islam for it's first 500 to 600 years...

@drwatsup With regards to the "that their should be no compulsion in regard to religion" bit: Do you know the punishment for apostasy in islam? (if you didn't and cba to look it up it is death) It is true that during his own lifetime the "prophet" often did give people the option not to convert, but take into account that the alternative was death. Under an islamic theocracy you can indeed choose between conversion and death (or if your lucky slavery instead).

@arashmets Only that he used the Bible as a model and if you read those texts (Old & New) they are just as blood thirsty. Without the enlightenment and secular society pushing on the violence in those texts you'd have the same thing. All three monotheistic religions are equally barbaric - it only matters what the time slice is as to what you see and all three should be put down like the barbaric rapid dogs they are.
