It's finally here aswell! How to read and write hexadecimal is also done on my whiteboard and hopefully it is clear and to the point. It explains what hexadecimal is, why it's used, and simply how to read it and write it.. mostly write though.

  • Hahaha, it's the new thing now everyone! First it was actually getting rick-rolled... now it is thinking you got rick-rolled ;)

  • For example i have this line

    14 00 6C 09 20 53 EC E3 63 AB D0 27 55 AF BF 3B

Do you know what it means?

    E 612 9 53 1412 143 63 1011 13 27 55 1015 1215 312 thats what i do

if i make all the C's and E's etc to numbers Is that right??

And if i done that what does all this 612 9 53 etc mean?? i dont understand at all

  • @Haxxtt Hey there Haxxtt, Looking at your hex string, 14 00 6C 09 20 53 EC E3 63 AB D0 27 55 AF BF 3B, I turned that into #'s and got the following: 14 = 20 00 = 0 6C = 108 09 = 9 20 = 32 53 = 83 EC = 236 E3 = 227 63 = 99 AB = 171 D0 = 208 27 = 39 55 = 85 AF = 175 BF = 191 3B = 59 All you will have to so now is turn those into text with an ASCII chart. There you go, hope that helps.
  • I thought to myself, what song is SOOOO annoying.. and this one came to mind, so I put it on :P

  • ThANX!!! it does loook easier than binary xD

when you read and write binary and hexadecimal... do you have it memorized or do you have to take out your ascii chart?

(just kinda gettin' an idea of how hard it is) LOL

    THANX AGAIN!

  • I have a-z and A-Z memorized yes, not the symbols though. Hope this helped you xD

  • ok so im not the genius in my grade but, like how do u find things to edit on the computer to edit, cuz like its all numbers and they dont translate into letters or words so how would i know what im editing in flexhex?

  • can i g my file to you

  • Thanks

  • I know that this question might not be too relevant, but I have a .bin *it was in a PSP game and it contains the sound, voices, ect.* now when I open it in XVI32 (hex editor) I get a lot of crap and unknown things (Japanese so gibberish code) but at the top it says things like folder directories leading to files ex. PSP\SOUND\Voice1.vag

then there is more garble. Mainly how do I extract files and directories from a binary file? (Note: POWERISO,MAGICISO, ect. DON'T WORK)
