Nihon in the Kitchen: Recipe 1 - Wasabi

http://www.japansociety.org/

Recipe 1 - Wasabi Glaze

------------------------------------

1 1/2 Tbsp. - wasabi
1 Tbsp. - ginger (grated)
2 Tbsp. - sugar
1 Tbsp. - soy sauce

---------------------------

With this first episode of Nihon in the Kitchen, Moto teaches you about the Japanese ingredient wasabi. Not only is it not just for your sushi and sashimi, but it also comes in convenient tube packaging (not to be confused with toothpaste). So watch and try out a new use for this potent Japanese ingredient!

Stay tuned for future recipes! Feel free to share Japanese ingredients you'd like us to talk about!

  • @ezjapanesecooking Thank you so much for taking the time to reply!

    I'll definitely do that. :)

  • @Pardinuz The song is IeRaiShan 夜来香 by RiKouran (李香蘭) who really is Yoshiko Yamaguchi 山口淑子。She played a Chinese girl in Japanese propaganda movie in Manchuria. Most people believed she was Chinese. She grew up in China and was very fluent in Chinese. Her life is very fascinating and was made into TV movie a few times. Google "Yoshiko Yamaguchi" and you'll find wiki and other info on her very fascinating life. She's still alive. She is one of the most symbolic figure of the time.

  • What's the name of the song? :)

  • Miam!

  • ohh man thank you so much, that recipe was mystery for many years to me

  • This is worse than grocery shopping on an empty stomach. I think I can smell it!
