@shiggashane1..Actually, that purchase was thinly-veiled attempt to legitimize the extremely unpopular war against Mexico which was torn by civil war at the time & entirely vulnerable. Is the concept of "Aztlan" any different than our "Manifest Destiny" here in the United States? No good that any country has braught about can justify its deleterious actions, so we find ourselves in a hypocritical issue here in the US. Therefore, we can only conclude that all this is the fruit of our own labor.
